In 2021, Oakland Schools was given approval by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to create 20-25 minute sessions based on the Michigan Model for Health Social and Emotional skills and combining restorative circles as a way to reinforce the Tier 1 CASEL SELect program in advisory/seminars at the MS and HS level, while building community in these multi-grade groups.

The Oakland County Prosecutor, the school superintendents of the 28 public districts in Oakland County, and Oakland Schools have joined in partnership to develop the Early Truancy Intervention Program. This is a collaborative effort to help children who are not regularly attending school.
