MMH Restorative Seminar Pilot
In 2021, Oakland Schools was given approval by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to create 20-25 minute sessions based on the Michigan Model for Health Social and Emotional skills and combining restorative circles as a way to reinforce the Tier 1 CASEL SELect program in advisory/seminars at the MS and HS level, while building community in these multi-grade groups.

OC Here4U Project
This project trains teams of peer educators to develop a year-long campaign that aims to:
- Increase awareness around social connectedness and coping strategies to support well-being.
- Increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety.
- Diminish stigma around depression, anxiety, and help-seeking behaviors.
- Connect peers with trusted adults and mental health supports in their community.

Whole Child Essentials Series
The Whole Child Essentials aims to improve Oakland County districts’ capacity to positively impact children’s overall well-being: Physical, social, and emotional health. This set of research-supported practices should focus on professional development for all school staff throughout the county.
To meet the needs of all learners, organizational practices must support youth development in ways that systematically impact well-being throughout schools. The recommended school-wide practices should occur in all Michigan PreK-12 learning environments.
Oakland Schools offers the Whole Child Essentials sessions to ensure districts access to these foundational components that are proven to support the whole child.
