Enrollment Steps

For OCC Pathway

STEP 1: Complete Pre-enrollment via MISTAR

STEP 2: Create OCC Profile & Start Application

Complete OCC online application. It’s free, and it’s fast to fill out.

Go to OCC Dual Enrollment Steps page, under the New Dual Enrollment Students section. Under Step1, click the "Apply Now" button to apply.

Students please note that When you apply to OCC, you need your social security number, and should select that you plan to enroll Fall 2026.

Look for a confirmation email from OCC admissions team stating that they received your application. If you don’t get confirmation within two business days, email OCC Admissions.

STEP 3: Submit the Dual Enrollment Authorization Form

STEP 4: Create MyOCC Account

Go to OCC Dual Enrollment Steps page, under the Step 3, click Set up your MyOCC account link.

After OCC process your application and dual enrollment authorization forms, OCC will send you two emails with information to set up your MyOCC account:

An admissions team member emails your OCC Student ID number and the link to find your username.
An online services team member emails your temporary password.

If you do not receive the emails, contact Dr. McKay for assistance.

STEP 5: Complete OCC Pre-Registration Requirements in MyOCC

STEP 6: OCC Fall 2026 Course Registration

Priority registration will open once OCC publishes the Fall 2026 class schedule. The schedule will be available on March 20, 2026.

Students have two options to register for classes:

Option 1: OCC Counselor Guided Registration

Schedule an Appointment: Call 248-341-2270 to schedule an appointment with an OCC counselor. This appointment must occur between March 20 and March 25.
Complete the Registration Form: Your registration form must be filled out, signed, and sent to Dr. McKay by March 25, 2026, to qualify for priority scheduling.
During Your Appointment: At your counseling appointment, you will complete an "OCC Registration/Adjustment Request" form.
Form Submission: Either the student or the OCC counselor signs the form, then emails it to amanda.mckay@oakland.k12.mi.us.
Processing: Dr. McKay will forward the Registration/Adjustment Request form to OCC registration for final processing

Next Steps After the Meeting:
Using the information provided in the meeting, complete the OCC Registration/Adjustment Request form.
Once filled out and signed, email it to amanda.mckay@oakland.k12.mi.us by March 25. You are not registered for OCC classes until you hear back from Dr. McKay via email that registration was successful.

Essential Information: Need to Know for to Register for Fall 2026 Classes

When registering for OCC classes you will need to know your high school, activities, family schedule, and which Seminar you will attend.

High School Schedule

11^th grade students attend high school hours 1-3 and are typically done with high school by 10:30AM.

Activities

If you participate in clubs or sports determine practice and game times to the best of your ability.

Student and Family Schedule

You may have a job or participate in activities that constrain your time for OCC classes. If you are dependent on your family for rides to OCC then ask them in advance what times, days and locations they cannot transfer you to.

Overall Schedule

Create a weekly schedule for your Fall 2026 (late August-mid December) Junior school year given the commitments of which you are aware. Use the template below to block out times you are not available.

Select the seminar you will attend by submitting the ACE Fall 2026 Seminar Selection Form.

How to Select OCC Courses?

Choose classes that are of high interest to you and align with your preferred career and college and that will transfer to a four-year university.

Oakland ACE students traditionally begin their experience taking classes that meet the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) and in an Associates of Arts Degree.

Review the MTA classes and consider those that align with your future interests

You will take 6-7 credits per semester in the 11th grade year.

If you want to take Math during your first year of the program, you must take the OCC ALEKS placement test. You will need several weeks to take the ALEKS practice test and take ALEKS. This must be done prior to registering for classes.

When possible, you must take 15-week classes. If the course is not offered in a 15-week format you may register for a 12-week course. 12-week courses are the same amount of material but with three less weeks to complete. Courses that are 10 or 8 weeks in length are not options for first year ACE students.

Choose classes from OCC’s Schedule of Classes

You may take courses at any OCC campus or online. Be mindful of the course you are choosing as the location of the course is in the course number. For example:

ENG 1510-A1501:

ENG 1510 is the course code.
A1501 is the section number.
The 15 means the course is 15 weeks (full semester) in length.
The A stands for Auburn Hills (O-Orchard Ridge; R-Royal Oak; S-Southfield)

Students are encouraged to take in person classes unless you have a history of successful online learning.

Once you select the classes you want to register for, you complete the “OCC Registration/Adjustment Request” form.

March 13, 2026: ACE Registration Meeting (virtual)
March 20, 2026: OCC Fall schedule released
March 20–25, 2026: OCC counseling appointment (optional) or registration window
March 25, 2026: Deadline to submit registration forms for priority scheduling
March 25 – June 12, 2026: Enrollment and registration continues

For LTU Pathway

April 4, 2026: LTU Enrollment Opens
Students must be fully enrolled and accepted to LTU by the end of June 2026 to particiapte.
Students may meet with an LTU advisor and register for courses anytime between April 7-July 30th.

Oakland ACE is:

3-Year program: 11th and 12th grades, with an additional full-time year at OCC.
We pay for 62 OCC college credits and textbooks.
Students attend weekly college and career focused seminar.
