Career readiness is a lifelong process guided by the principles of awareness, exploration and preparation which is inclusive of STEM as a way of thinking and problem-solving. Helping students find the “best fit” in terms of their career pathway requires a systematic, districtwide K-12 vision involving teachers, counselors, career development facilitators, administrators and industry partners working together to provide a series of career and STEM focused experiences. The Oakland CR-STEM Conference brings education professionals together with this purpose in mind.

• Educators with effective examples of career and/or STEM focused activities currently implemented in local districts proven to support students
• District representatives that have developed a strong industry partnership to support the district’s career and STEM focused vision
• Industry professionals familiar with the skills and abilities that employers view as critical to the success of students in the jobs of the future
