Frequently asked questions.

1. What’s the process to get my prints done?
   • Make an appointment by clicking MAKE AN APPOINTMENT on our home page, or going directly to www.OSFingerprint.com
     • Bring :
       • The Livescan Fingerprint Request form given to you by the requesting agency or CPL application receipt from the county clerk.
       • Your ID; driver’s License or passport
   • Arrive at our facility, no later than 5 minutes before your appointment time.
   • Call us to let us know you have arrived. 248-209-2374
   • We will call you back when we are ready for you to come in.
   • Come to our front entrance and we will buzz you directly into the customer portal.
   • The technician will confirm your information and take you through the steps.
2. Will I be in contact with another person during the process?
   • We have completely reorganized the facility to ensure your safety.
   • You will be in a separate room from the technician, separated by a glass wall.
   • You’ll place your hand through an access hole in the glass onto the scanner.
   • The technician, in appropriate PPE protective gear, will gently place your hand onto the scanner to complete the process.
3. Where do I get an Agency ID number? (not applicable for CPL)
   • The organization that requested your prints gives that to you before you register.
4. What do I need to do before I get my prints done for my CPL?
   • Bring a CPL receipt from the County Clerk’s office.

   • Visit the Michigan State Police website at https://tinyurl.com/CPL-MI-STEPS.
5. Can I use my fingerprint results for more than one employer/agency?
   • Your results will be sent directly to the organization associated with the agency ID number given to you by the organization requiring your prints.
   • Some school districts will share results and some districts will accept shared print results. Most other agencies will not.
6. Will I be able to see my results?
   • No. They are electronically sent, only to the requesting agency.
7. Do you keep my results on file?
   • We never ever see the results. Only the requesting organization sees them.
8. When will my requesting organization receive the results?
   • Results may take up to 72 hours. Typically, your requesting organization will receive the results in 48 hours.
9. Will I receive a receipt?
   • Yes. When you register, a confirmation email/receipt is sent to you.
10. Do you do ink on paper fingerprinting?
    • No, we do not.
11. How do I cancel an appointment?
    • Call 248-209-2374 or email FP@OSisd.org as soon as you know.
12. Will I get a refund for a cancellation?
    • If you notify us 3 days or more before your appointment you’ll receive a full refund.
13. May I cancel my appointment and get a refund?
    • Yes, as long as you cancel 3 business days before your appointment.
    • No refunds will be made after that point.
14. May I reschedule after I make an appointment?
    • Yes. First cancel your original appointment (see #11)
    • Then make a new appointment. You’ll need to pay for the new appointment.
    • If you rescheduled 3 business days before your original appointment, your refund will be made for your original appointment.
15. May I register more than one person on the same account?
    • Yes. Log in and enter your password and then click on the box that says - “I am not registering. I am registering others”
    • Then enter all of the information for the other person getting the fingerprinting done.
16. How much time will my appointment take?
    • Approximately 15 minutes.
