Oakland Schools STEM Summer Camps
How much does it cost?
$190 per week, which includes all snacks, meals and after care.
What are the hours?
8:30 am – 3:00 pm. After care is available from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at no additional cost.
I start work earlier than 8:30 am. How early can I drop my child?
Camp participants may not be dropped off prior to 8:15. There will not be staff available to monitor your child prior to 8:15.
Can I request for my child to be placed with friends?
We will do the best we can to place friends in the same group.
Is there a payment plan?
No, payment must be paid in full upon registration.
Can I pay with cash or check?
No, online registration is required with payment by credit card.
Are there scholarships available?
Yes, contact your school district Superintendent's office for more information.
Do you offer busing?
Do you bus the students to Oakland University for the field trip?
Can I drive my student to OU myself?
No, it is important to keep all the students together for safety reasons.
Do you offer child care before or after camp?
Only after care is available from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at no additional cost.
What is the lunch menu?
The lunch menu will be emailed to all participants the week prior to camp.
What if my child does not like what’s for lunch?
You are welcome to send a lunch with your child.
My child has dietary restrictions, can you accommodate our needs?
No. We only offer what is available from the catering company for lunches/snacks; however, you are welcome to send a lunch/snack with your child.
Can my child bring his or her own lunch?
What are the snacks?
Snack options include items such as pretzels and fruit. Water is available at all times.
Can my child bring a water bottle?
My child is younger than 6th grade, but is very advanced; can he come to the camp?
Unfortunately, no; the camp is specially for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students only.
How big are the groups?
Groups are no larger than 15 students.
How many camp coaches do you have per student?
There is one camp coach per 15 students as well as a floating assistant coach. Each building has additional staff present at all times to address student needs.
