Commercial Contracting Corporation
On December 4, over 20 educators had the opportunity to spend the day at Commercial Contracting Corporation in Auburn Hills. Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC) is a full-service contractor offering a breadth of services that cover every step of the construction and equipment installation process.
The day consisted of educators engaging in learning about misconceptions in the construction industry and the inception to completion of a CCC project. Attendees also participated in a guided tour of the facility and a panel discussion. The panel consisted of individuals from various construction trades, union representatives and postsecondary representatives. During the panel discussion there was discussion of the three areas; college, trade school and union as viable career pathways to the construction industry.
Educators created and shared lesson plans that they could implement into their classrooms. Individuals felt the day had changed their perception of the construction industry and one attendee said, “It was one of the best professional development opportunities that I have ever attended”. We wish to extend our thanks and appreciation to Anthony Fanone, Matt Stone and Kevin Foucher at CCC for hosting and planning such a wonderful event for Oakland County educators.
