Transportation
Oakland Schools Transportation Services is dedicated to supporting the safe, timely and efficient school bus transportation for over 90,000 students across Oakland County. Oakland Schools leads a collaborative effort to provide special education transportation as well as cooperative purchasing for school bus parts, tires, drug and alcohol testing and physicals. Transportation Services also provides consultation services, computer software and support for school bus routing, fleet management and driver certification programs.
Dedicated to the education and professional development of transportation staff, Michigan State Mandated School Bus Safety Education and other training relative to school transportation are also offered. Our website includes resources for school personnel, students, parents and the community.
Train the Trainer
This is a 3-day program designed for supervisors and driver trainers and includes the new CDL updates. It is designed to assist in preparing new drivers with necessary road skills and information prerequisite to the beginning bus driver curriculum. Due to the hands-on and individual training required in this class, class size is limited.

The Positive Power of Affirmation, Approval, and Acceptance with Dr. Nathanial Hearne
Dr. Nathanial Hearne’s inspiring story shows how belief and encouragement can transform a person’s life. Despite growing up in poverty and struggling in school, supportive teachers and a coach helped him discover his potential and purpose. Through perseverance, sports, and the support of others, he overcame adversity and spent 35 years inspiring students and adults.
