MISTAR-Q is the student information system (SIS) of choice for districts across Oakland, Wayne, Livingston, and Chippewa counties. In partnership with Wayne RESA and SIS vendor Aequitas Solutions, Inc., Oakland Schools provides comprehensive support for MISTAR-Q districts. This includes training, system integrations, customizations, MiDataHub support, and day-to-day assistance with the full MISTAR-Q suite, as well as the Medicaid Service Tracker and Billing module. Aequitas Solutions, Inc. maintains both a local and national presence to ensure robust support for their product.

The MISTAR Consortium consists of dedicated support teams from both Wayne RESA and Oakland Schools—over 35 staff members in total—working collaboratively to serve our districts. These teams partner in multiple areas, including product development, communication, first-level support, training and documentation, special education, state reporting, and implementation. Staff from both organizations are also actively engaged in statewide advisory groups such as MPAAA, CEPI’s Data Collection Advisory, Data Hub Advisory, Actionable Data Advisory, MSBO, MISEN, and METL.

Integration with Michigan Data Hub

MISTAR-Q has played an active role in MiDataHub’s development by shaping integrations that Michigan districts rely on. As one of the first SIS vendors to connect through Ed-Fi, MISTAR-Q has provided feedback, testing, and support that strengthened services like UIC lookup, direct certification, and state reporting. This partnership has improved MiDataHub’s functionality and ensured districts have reliable, real-time data flows to support their work.

Integration & Data Connectivity

MISTAR-Q platforms are designed for seamless integration with third-party applications and services. We support a variety of connection methods to meet district and vendor needs, including:

  • APIs / Web Services for real-time, bi-directional data exchange
  • Flat File / Batch / CSV / XML for scheduled bulk imports and exports
  • Automated / No-Touch Data Exchanges using scripts or scheduled workflows

These flexible integration options enable secure, reliable, and automated data sharing across systems — supporting interoperability without requiring custom development.
