Science
Our Mission
Here at Oakland Schools, we strive to support districts in providing every student with authentic, three-dimensional learning experiences that engage them in the sense-making process and foster a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. Through strategic implementation of both the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Michigan Science Standards (MSS), we are cultivating positive science identities in our students by offering pedagogical resources that emphasize natural curiosity and critical thinking through the exploration of real-world phenomena. In collaboration with content experts, district leaders, and classroom teachers, we are working to build and sustain a scientifically literate community where students are not just learning about but are actively figuring out how the natural world works, in preparation for solving the problems of tomorrow.
