The Educational Technology team at Oakland Schools works to support the applied use and integration of digital technologies in education. We offer consulting and professional learning services to public schools in Oakland County, as well as support and leadership for local, regional and state educational technology-related initiatives. We also provide services related to digital materials and platforms.

Oakland Schools provides a variety of listservs to keep educators in the loop during the year with new resources, opportunities, and information affecting you as an educator of specific content or grade level. The Educational Technology team has a listserv that would be of interest to Oakland County educators at all levels and all areas of instruction.

Video Streaming
Oakland Schools (REMC 17) provides subsidized, streaming video services (Discovery Experience) to the public school districts and public school academies. Private schools are eligible to purchase streaming video at the REMC Bid pricing. These resources provide teachers and students with access to over 7000 videos and other resources directly correlated to the curriculum.

STEM Checkout Program (STEMco)
The REMC 17/Oakland Schools lending library of maker materials is combining with the STEM Checkout program (STEMco). This will greatly expand the number of items available for educators working in public schools located in Oakland County to check out for use with their students.
- The equipment of STEMco is available to all Oakland County Educators.
- Items come with support from Oakland Schools STEM consultants.
- It's free of cost.
