The Child Nutrition Department is dedicated to supporting safe and healthy school meals that prepare students for daily learning and improved student achievement.
The Child Nutrition department provides leadership in cutting edge training programs, accurate and timely program data and expert technical assistance for all Federal Child Nutrition Programs operated in Oakland County.
What We Do:

Provides USDA regulatory resources and training programs to assist locals towards compliance with local, state and federal laws for Child Nutrition programming.

Provides operations management support and on site consulting.

Provides MOR Purchasing Cooperative for buying USDA foods and commercial food/supplies for Child Nutrition programs in Oakland County and across Michigan.

Provides Food Safety Certification training and specialized training programs for Oakland County Food Service personnel.

Develop and manage county food service data for meal pricing, participation trends, and free/reduced eligibility statistics.

Develop and evaluate RFPs for Food Service Management Contracts and other service contracts related to food service.

Provides full service child nutrition program support via intergovernmental agreement to certain school districts in Oakland County on a cost recovery basis.
