Robert Moore Receives Eagle Award

On Saturday, September 22, Oakland Schools Deputy Superintendent and Michigan and Project Director for the School Finance Research Collaborative, Robert Moore, received the Eagle Award by ASBO, or Association for School Business Officials Conference International. He was presented the award at the ASBO 2018 Annual Meeting & Expo. 

The International Eagle Award is the highest honor in school business. The Eagle Awards celebrates visionary leaders in the profession whose outstanding leadership and dedication, have improved student achievement, and enriched communities.

ASBO said of Robert Moore: 

"Robert Moore's commitment to education led him to establish the framework for the School Finance Research Collaborative, an initiative to improve the education funding system in Michigan. The ultimate goal is to support sweeping school finance reforms that address weaknesses in Michigan’s outdated school funding system. A respected leader with more than 30 years as a chief financial officer, Moore was appointed director for the project in July 2016 and has worked tirelessly to inform policymakers and stakeholders about the cost for all students to achieve state standards."
