Substitute Teaching
Substitute requirements
The State of Michigan requires any substitute teacher candidate
to complete 90 credit hours in any subject area from a four-year
college or university.
Emergency/150-Day Permit
These are for substitutes who do not have a teaching certificate.
The application for an Emergency permit/150 day permit must be
submitted by the district that you will be working in.

Substitute teaching for Oakland Schools (intermediate

Oakland Schools currently utilizes substitute teachers in the
four technical campuses that provide Career Focused Education.
