INTRODUCTION
Oakland Schools welcomes the opportunity presented by PA 413 of 2004 that requires each of Michigan's 57 intermediate school districts to post certain information on our websites by December 31 of each year, beginning in 2006. This section of the Oakland Schools website provides detailed information about who we are, what we do, who we serve, costs, and cost-savings to our constituent districts.

Oakland Schools pursues its mission by focusing on results in six key goal areas:
- Consulting services, professional development, and instructional resources provided to Oakland County schools and districts will lead to improved student achievement.
- Consolidation and regionalization of services will maximize resources and improve cost efficiencies for local school communities in the areas of business, operations, professional development, and instructional resources.
- Technical assistance from Oakland Schools will result in school districts meeting state and federal compliance requirements.
- Employee satisfaction with our work environment will improve, leading to a more positive and productive culture.
- Standard operating procedures will be established and consistently applied to drive how business id done at Oakland Schools.
- Organizational resources, including financial, material, facility, and human resources, will be allocated efficiently and effectively to support Oakland Schools' priorities and goals.
Nearly 88.73% of the Oakland Schools budget in FY 06-07 was focused on direct services to local school districts. The remaining 11.27% was dedicated to indirect services to the schools we serve. Click here for more information.
