In our ongoing efforts to decrease costs while increasing efficiency, Oakland Schools sometimes contracts with individuals to build capacity in service areas requested by our constituent districts. For example, school improvement support requests are greater than our ability to fulfill them using ISD employees. In order to provide essential services, we must contract with outside professionals to increase our capacity.
