The Science Team at Oakland Schools offers a variety of services including consulting and professional development in the areas of science curriculum and instruction/assessment. We offer these services by providing support in these key areas: |
| Science Education Projects |
The Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Network is comprised of 33 centers that collaborate on projects and resource development related to education in mathematics, science and technology integration. OSMTech Center resides within Oakland Schools.
The Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Network is convening meetings and helping to coordinate partnerships with private and public entities to elevate STEM literacy and competencies in a way that increases Michigan’s economic strength to retain and attract desirable jobs. OSMTech Center is participating as part of the St. Clair HUB of this statewide initiative.
As a “Lead State” Michigan has the opportunity to review and comment on early drafts of the coming revision to our national science standards. Members of the OSMTech science team are contributing to this effort.
As an ongoing effort to resource schools with model curriculum, the science team continues to supplement the Oakland Schools Science SCoPE curriculum with lesson packets, assessment packets and assessment items. These are hosted on the Atlas Rubicon Curriculum Management System. Click here to download directions to get to the Oakland Schools Science SCoPE curriculum.
