The Oakland Schools Office of Financial Services records and reports all financial transactions of the organization in the General Education, Special Education, Vocational Education, Capital Projects Funds, and Funded Projects. Financial Services has legal reporting responsibilities and may also be called upon to perform audits by the Michigan Department of Education. Services include:
- Develop and manage budget, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, and grants accounting.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and reporting.
- Provides fiduciary oversight of the financial resources of Oakland Schools.
- Provides operational support to the school districts in Oakland County.

Oakland Schools has received the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) from the Association of School Business Officials for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1996-2001, 2003-2008.
Medicaid website
Oakland Schools is a billing process agent for the Medicaid Funded School Health Services Program. The Medicaid billing team provides all the services to our school districts that are required to support the fee-for-service and outreach programs.
