The Third Annual Teacher Counselor Exchange (TCE) kicked off on January 12, 2011 with 50 people divided into 19 teams. The teams consisted of teachers, counselors and career development facilitators from nine districts and two technical campuses. The purpose of this exchange was to increase participants' knowledge and awareness of Career Technical Education (CTE) program curricula offered at the local districts and the Oakland Schools Technical Campuses while strengthening relationships with their colleagues throughout the county. Each team visited at least one district CTE program and one Oakland Schools Technical campus program to observe student activities. Also, a new requirement for teams this year was to visit three worksites related to their chosen program area of study. From these visits, each team developed a lesson plan and a student activity. Teams presented their findings at a dissemination conference on May 17, 2011 or May 19, 2011 at Oakland Schools. Below are the lesson plans and student activities developed by this year's participants.
