Secondary CTE Perkins funds are received by Oakland Schools and spent to enhance CTE programming at the OSTCs and local school districts pursuant to a regional plan and to ensure regional achievement of the Perkins core performance indicators. 

Perkins funding is federal support for career and technical education. The funding is primarily intended to improve the quality of instruction, integrate rigorous academic and technical instruction, and support effective partnerships among secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, and business and industry.
