The Oakland Schools Information Center provides professional materials in print and online including books, videos, databases and periodicals for K-12 educators and administrators. The Oakland Schools Information Media Consultant provides database searches, consultations and professional development to assist the K-12 community to enhance and extend their abilities to teach and learn, make decisions, collaborate, communicate and focus on increased student achievement.

SIRS Renaissance

Geared towards children from kindergarten to sixth grade, this database is comprised of journal articles, newspapers, radio and television news transcripts, reference books and photos. eBooks
The MeL Ebooks collection includes over 12,000 full-text books from netLibrary. Books on a wide range of topics for a broad audience are included. Search within the whole collection or within a particular book to find and read the information you want. Once you have created your account at a Michigan library you will be able to access this collection from any computer that can connect to the Internet. Books may be "checked out" for up to 6 hours.
